On the Day of Judgement, "Fasting will say: O My Lord I prevented him from food & desires so accept my intercession for him." (Ahmad)
"...And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew." (2:184)
Ramadan is a month whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is forgiveness, & whose end is freedom from the fire of hell.
“O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint.” (2:183)
Ramadan is a blessed month containing a night which is better than a thousand months.
"Fasting is a shield with which a servant protects himself from the Fire." [Ahmad, Saheeh]
"Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwaa." [2:183]
