Three years on...

Today marks the day that it has been three years since I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism! SubhanAllah, time flies. It doesn't feel like three years. Click here to read about my diagnosis and click here to read my message from last year.

I thought I'd do something a little more special this year. I feel it's a celebration, so I bought some chocolate cake from Sainsbury's after my exam. It was yummy :) We even managed to find a "3" candle- by coincidence!! Here are some pictures:

I also decided to a video. I didn't want to speak though, and I recently saw a video where someone was holding up cards, so I decided to do the same. I thought it was about time you guys saw my face! So here is the video:

I remember when I first got put on atenolol (heart med) I had the worst side effects ever, its always hardest for the first few months but it gets easier after that I think. You become more accepting and I think more humble and human

Assalamualaikum Sis!

Aww mashallah you're so cute & sweet!!! I love how you celebrate it x3 it must have really hurt you!!! I just shook it off and took it as nothing serious :< I just accepted it at day 1 and thanked God it was all that was wrong with me. Thank you for sharing this. I'm glad you did because I think I needed a reminder to start taking better care of mylself - and my thyroid issues too. I skip my doses : ( and don't eat properly. I am currently atm having a viral infection due to low immune system which I'm assuming is due to all this.
Alhamdulillah for our good health & that we were able to find we had this disease because many people are unaware and live their whole life without knowing! it can cause a coma for some : (
xx

@Ashi: thank you! :) it was yummy! Wish you all could have had some too :)

@Sy: thank you. Definitely. Are you still on that medication, if you don't mind me askiking

@Sorlis: thank you so much for your kind words, I feel humbled by them :)

@Jess: Walaikum assalam! Thank you. It was harder for me being younger, and I lost so much valuable time whilst I was ill with the side-effects. It was hard to accept, I guess. Oh no, you really shouldn't skip doses! i know, I'm still so grateful Alhamdulillah I was diagnosed whilst young, it lies dormant in so many people

@Yours Truly: Thank you! :) Glad you liked it

oh what a lovely video!! good for you girl!! it's so true, there are worth diseases we could have and being thankful all the time, for what we have, makes a huge difference to how we experience whatever is going on. Sounds like you have done a lot of growing up in the last 3 years, or maybe you were super mature to begin with! Well done. I'm glad to have found your blog.
